"The FedEx of Transcripts and Recommendations"

Letter of Recommendation Basics
  • Open a CAPS account – good for use with the free, College Preference System, or the Credentials Vault (CV) system for Letters of Recommendation (LORs) or Transcripts.
  • Applicant invites recommender to write a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) to be submitted to colleges of the applicant’s choice. Applicant can invite recommender either by email through the electronic system or via paper by printing out a cover form and giving it to the recommender.
  • Recommender submits the LOR either electronically or by paper through our secure system managed by Bank of NY Mellon.
  • LOR is received by CAPS and appears on the applicant’s dashboard.
  • Applicant selects which colleges the LOR is to be sent to and they are instantly dispatched.
  • Colleges receive the LOR.
  • REMEMBER – the entire process is trackable every step of the way through the applicant dashboard.  That’s why we’ve been called “the FedEx of Recommendations and Transcripts”.

Transcript Basics
  • An enrolled High School submits all transcripts to CAPS either via PDF or by paper through our ultra secure system managed by Bank of New York Mellon.
  • All transcripts become available by student name through the secure High School Dashboard.
  • High School selects colleges and universities where each student’s transcript should be sent through the High School Dashboard on the CAPS site.
  • CAPS instantly dispatches transcripts to the Colleges and Universities selected.
  • REMEMBER – The High school can track all transcripts through updates on the High School Dashboard.
