The Sound and the Fury
Henderson Oracle
All Delighted People is the latest Extended Play, or "EP," from Sufjan Stevens and is released by Asthmatic Kitty Records, an indie label (yes, they do still exist) based in, where else? Michigan. All Delighted People really is remarkably divergent from Stevens’ previous two albums and is about as delightful as an old pair of tennis shoes, but maybe that is a good thing.

'Scott' lives up to his movie through the comic
Henderson Oracle
"Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" (the book, not the movie!); I have mixed emotions about it. On one hand, there’s the fact that it satisfied my itch to have more of the story, but on the other hand, I now feel a little empty. The book is AMAZING, don’t get me wrong! I just feel a little let down.

Awkward 'Pilgrim' brings the laughter
Henderson Oracle
"Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" is an over-the-top, incredibly awkward and outrageously funny film from "Shaun of the Dead" director Edgar Wright. The story itself is based on the comic book series by Bryan Lee O’Malley. Along with clever effects and amazing action sequences, Wright has made a true comic book movie.

Chemistry is theme for 2010 Reddies
Henderson Oracle
Last season housed a lot of conflict for the Reddies football team. Losing a starting quarterback due to personal issues and the firing of an assistant coach/defensive coordinator, the final 3-7 record was less than a surprise. But it is a new year, a new time to shine and a new chance to get to the top of the Gulf South Conference.

It is here and most have no idea what it has done. It is health care reform. Some of it takes effect now; most of it takes effect later. What is clear is the impact it will have on students. Update: wet/dry still big county topic
Henderson Oracle
Even after the repeal of the national prohibition act in 1933, Clark County, as well as many other counties across the country, decided to maintain its dry status and has continued to illegalize the sale of intoxicating beverages. The issue has not been voted on in Clark County since 1943; however, a committee of citizens concerned about the county’s growth has come forward to rally the public, encouraging individuals to demand a vote on the wet/dry issue of Clark County for the first time in decades.

'Losers' turns out to be a clear winner.
Henderson Oracle
Sometimes audiences just need a big-ass action film. "The Losers" is a gloriously over-the-top, loud and all-around good time at the movies. The trailers for the film promise nothing more than a huge popcorn flick. The movie, with its good filmmakers and well-acted cast, delivers just that.

Committee: 'We're not increasing tuition yet'
Henderson Oracle
Given the current state of the economy, no student would be eager to pay more for tuition. However, many colleges are bumping up prices and fees to offset monstrous funding cuts. A one to two percent increase on tuition is a possibility for Henderson, but not if budget committee chairman Bobby Jones has anything to say about it.

Reviewer gives clean opinion on 'Dirty' film
Henderson Oracle
Due to the fact that Warner Bros. has released a new box set entitled "Clint Eastwood: 35 Years 35 Films" on DVD recently, this week's movie review will be "Dirty Harry." In the 70's, the crime rate was up in America. Not only that, the Vietnam War was in full swing and, eventually, Watergate shook the very foundation of trust that Americans had in their leaders.

Henderson Oracle
A classroom with sounds of a classical French radio station. Students are covered in charcoal. Kathy Strause, chair of the art department, makes her way around the room, talking, invoking confidence in these unsure artists. The exceptional part to this typical scene at the Russell Fine Arts building is that the youngest of these Henderson students is only 10.
